There are three things that you should always aspire to do in your daily life. Get a good night’s sleep, have a good diet, and exercise. While all of them can be a challenge, the exercise part is arguably the hardest one for most people. We just don’t feel that there is enough energy to do exercises, especially those of us who work in an office and have a sedentary lifestyle.

Well, guess what? The main reason people don’t have the energy to workout is that they simply don’t workout. It’s an endless circle that has to be broken by the power of one’s will. You may think that by sitting all day long you save your energy. But it has been proven false for a long time.

In order to create energy, you must apply some. Building it up daily is what will boost your energy levels and make you feel much better. People with busy schedules might think of it as a waste of time, but nothing is further from the truth. There are few things in life as rewarding as investing even minuscule of your time into physical exercise.

Quick Lunch Break Without Equipment

For the purpose of this article, we will assume that you don’t have access to the gym during your working hours. Because of this, you must make do with minimal, but that’s all you need. Cardio and strength exercises at their basis do not require any special equipment, but if you have a set of dumbbells dusting at your garage, you will do well by transporting them to your office. By combining simple cardio and strength exercises you will feel the much-needed boost in several days.

Cardio Workout

It is almost certain that you have a staircase at your office. Not much people will be using them actively, so you can make do with them.

  1. Start with a warm-up.
  2. Walk up and down the stairs slowly, for several minutes, until you feel ready to commence exercise.
  3. After this, you will have to spend the next five to seven minutes walking up and down the stairs.
  4. On your way up, try taking 2 steps at a time.
  5. On your way down move slowly control your breath, and gather energy.
  6. Then go back up 2 steps at the time again.
  7. Repeat this for around 5-7 minutes and your cardio for the day is over

(You can increase the time you spend on cardio as you feel more energy)

Strength Building

For this, you won’t need anything, but a small free space.

  1. Start with 10 pushups.
  2. Follow them with 12 squats.
  3. Finish it up with split squats (you will need a char or a strong surface to rely upon).
  4. Once you complete the above steps, take a minute break (no more) and then repeat this set 4 more times.

As time goes by increase the number of sets. You can also add split squat and squats to your steps (you will need stairs of a protruding surface for this) after the first week.

Increase Your Energy For Those Busy Days
